OS/X and MonoDevelop

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, an enterprising young fella created an OS/X distribution of MonoDevelop that *worked*.

For a brief while, all was good in the universe, and then MD moved forward with GTK2.8, which caused the containment field for the os/x 10.4 warp drive to breach, and everything was left bearing a strange green glow.....

Are there any others who would like to right this wrong and bring this development platform back to OS/X?

MonoDevelop is a really, really cool platform that I would like to see on OS/X, but it seems that there are a plethora of 'little dependency' issues to deal with.... some of which are far beyond my ability to deal with (the automake and pkgconfig world is somewhat foreign to me...).

The instructions @ http://www.monodevelop.org/Running_On_OSX
are somewhat odd, as they are a mix of installing things from darwinPorts, and compiling things yourself.... and there are some 'gaps' in the toolchains.

I would like to take those instructions, and put together *detailed* step-by-step instructions about how to build on OS/X (leopard dare I ask?) .... and eventually generate a real installer so 'regular folk' can leverage their .NET skills on OS/X ....

Anyone want to band together and get this ball rolling?
